When getting started just remember, A2P 10DLC registration is required. So the only way out is through. Preparation and proper guidance is a great way to set your team and customers up for success during this process.
To start, you will need to register your customer with The Campaign Registry (TCR) as a Brand. This typically takes a few minutes to complete. A Brand = the company or entity the text message receipt believes to be sending the message AKA your customer.
After the Brand is approved, you then need to register the Brand’s Campaigns. Campaigns = your customer’s messaging use cases. Submitting Campaigns typically takes a few minutes to complete as well, but the approval process can take weeks depending on the API provider. Telgorithm is currently seeing 48 hour or less approval timelines with our DCA vendors.
A common misconception is that Campaigns are approved by TCR but this is not the case. Campaigns are reviewed and approved by Director Connector Aggregators (DCA), not by TCR.
Before getting started make sure you have the following items ready from your customer:
Brand registration is relatively straightforward, however Campaign registration requires more detailed information and therefore becomes easier to miss things and incur a rejection.
Your team puts in time and effort to support your customers through 10DLC registration, which is why receiving a 10DLC Campaign rejection is all the more frustrating. Oftentimes it isn’t even your team’s fault, as the rules change frequently and DCA’s continue to tighten their compliance checklists for approvals.
That’s why it’s extremely important to partner with a messaging API provider that is going to provide your team timely and proactive 10DLC guidance and support through the various changes to 10DLC rules and regulations.
As a messaging provider who offers hands-on 10DLC guidance and support to its customers, we’ve detailed the most common 10DLC rejection reasons the Telgorithm team has observed as of late including:
Number 1 and 2 are by far the most common, but a close third includes:
Depending on which DCA your messaging API provider works with, the error codes related to these rejections may vary as errors are specific to the DCA reviewing the Campaign. So make sure to get clarification from your API provider or customer success representative.
